Akasa joined Family Friend singer Mika Singh’s band at the age of just 17 and was the only girl in the band with 10 men over the age of 40. The band traveled around the world for live shows and concerts. YouTube videos of Akasa have also gone viral. After that she was cast in a singing reality show. Early in her career she was signed by the record label Sony Music India through a reality show.
